Via Ferrata Vír III.

In August 2024 an exciting via ferrata event took place at Vír, organized by the NGO Four Links. The day was split into two time slots engaging two groups of participants. The event leader, Aneta, welcomed both groups and provided an introduction to via ferratas, including a briefing on safety procedures, the history of ferratas, the international ranking system, and the importance of understanding route markings. She also took time to highlight the organising NGO – Four Links, its involvement within e29 network and shared information about past and upcoming projects.

The event proved to be a rewarding experience for all participants. Following a thorough safety briefing and equipment check, the group practiced tying the prusik knot before heading to the ferrata route. Aneta guided everyone through the process of securing themselves on the ferrata rope using the prusik knot, ensuring that each participant felt confident and secure. The group’s enthusiasm was visible as they navigated the route, applying their newly acquired skills in a real-world setting. By the end of the day, everyone had successfully completed the ferrata and gained valuable climbing experience, leaving them excited for future challenges and adventures.
