Via Ferrata Skalka – Kremnica

Our Project

On 23.09.2024 students and teachers from Banská Štiavnica tried and learned safe climbing on via ferrata routes. In the heart of the Kremnica Mountains, at Skalka, they had beautiful sunny weather, which was ideal for this outdoor activity, organized by Klub 86. Our large group, 20 participants in total, was very diverse – girls and boys, pupils and teachers, younger and older. Everyone was actively involved in the training and instruction where we learned and tried out safety techniques and knots. We explained the most important basics for safe movement on via ferrata routes.

After the briefing we started our journey with an easy B route, where even the less experienced could try the magic of via ferrata. The route was easy, but those who were confident could change the route to a harder one. After the first three via ferrata routes, which were more for beginners, we moved on to the intermediate routes (C, D). The more daring ones tried the most difficult sections. The beautiful view of the Kremnica Mountains and the colour of the autumn leaves completely enchanted us. The most awaited route, the longest suspension bridge in Slovakia was left for the end. Everyone, even those who are scared of the deep, climbed this really long and fascinating bridge. We can say that everyone felt great and found their via ferrata challenges.
