Video Recap of one of our activities in Via Ferrata Pombeira.

Our first experience at the Pombeira via ferrata was on March 22, 2024, with five participants eager to take on this extensive and well-built route. The Pombeira via ferrata is long and thoughtfully designed, with numerous anchor points that add to the safety and enjoyment of the climb. It includes three bridges, offering an additional touch of variety and excitement as participants navigate each section. With its range of features and resting points, this route is ideal for climbers to enjoy a full experience and engage at their own pace.

On September 1, we returned to Pombeira with 17 participants, most of whom were trying via ferrata for the first time. Divided into two groups, each arriving at different times, both groups had its own dedicated briefing to cover the basics of the equipment, safety techniques, and essential skills like using the resting harness, crafting rope steps, and climbing with the prusik loop. Participants then set off along the via ferrata, fully equipped and confident, while also enjoying the route’s range of bridges and anchored sections. This day highlighted the versatility of Pombeira’s via ferrata, making it feel like an adventurous playground where each climber could explore safely and freely. The day was a huge success, and everyone left with a strong interest in future adventures and new skills they could apply in the next climbing experience.
