Video Recap of our Local Training in Via Ferrata Povoa do Lanhoso

In the first ferrata ever setup in Portugal, our group set out on a great adventure. The weather couldn’t have been better: clear skies, not too hot considering it was mid-summer in Portugal. Being an old installation of Via Ferrata it was characteristic due to the thinner life rope. The perfect opportunity to practice our adaptability to different settings. However, the Via Ferrata was at an easy level, with not so serious obstacles.

The conditions were perfect to learn about and practice safety measures. After a short introduction on equipment and basic safety rules by instructor Rui Pereira, we got to practice prusik looping with the thinner cable giving us an extra level of difficulty. Via Ferrata is about challenging your fears and limitations, so even though some of our participants had to overcome a certain fear of heights, we can proudly say that everybody made it to the end without any issues, in what was a very relaxed, active day spent in nature.
