A Peaceful Start in the Slovak Countryside

The blended mobility took place in the calm and green surroundings of Látky, a small village in the Slovak countryside. This serene location offered the perfect setting for focused work and meaningful connection with nature. Cozy corners in the accommodation invited group collaboration, while peaceful paths encouraged reflection during walks. Participants from four European countries came together, ready to turn their ideas into action.

From Observing to Creating Something Real

The first days were all about connection, both with each other and with the issues that young people face today. Through guided reflection, open conversation, and creative exercises, participants explored topics close to their hearts. A short workshop introduced how Erasmus+ activities can become powerful tools for change.

Each participant soon found their place in a working group, focused on themes such as wellbeing, inclusion, sustainability, or active citizenship. With the support of experienced mentors, the real group work began: drafting project goals, brainstorming activities, and learning how to turn ideas into a structured youth exchange.

Participants explored non-formal education principles, built engaging timetables, and even learned how to map out a safe and inclusive program. From team building to final evaluation, they imagined the full journey of a future exchange.

They also stepped into the often-overlooked side of the work, logistics. From designing travel plans across six countries to uploading routes into Microsoft Power Apps, they got hands-on experience with the tools and thinking behind real-world planning.

Where It All Came Together

Activity identity matters too. Each group learned the basics of EU visual guidelines before designing a logo that captured the spirit of their exchange. Some used Canva, others sketched by hand, but every result reflected passion and purpose.

Before the program came to an end, the energy of Method Lab Day brought everything full circle. Each team led a trial session from their activity, creating a day filled with movement, imagination, and emotion. From yoga and outdoor games to role play, debates, and even a moving inclusion activity at the end of the day, it was clear how far each group had come.

From strangers to something more…

Every hour of focused group work carried a quiet promise: to learn, to connect, to grow. Strangers at first, we slowly became a team, transforming ideas into plans and moments into memories, until what began as an exercise evolved into something unforgettable.

Some of the cool things we did during this activity

Flipcharts

Participants worked in groups to create flipcharts on Non-Formal Education, reflecting on its principles and their own experiences. They also explored related themes such as the differences between formal, non-formal and informal learning, as well as the role of facilitation and reflection in the process.

Designing Youth Exchanges

Participants were divided into groups, with each group taking responsibility for designing its own youth exchange. As part of this process, they learned to use PowerApps to register and monitor all steps of the planning. This included organizing travel plans, identifying the location, and setting the dates, giving them hands-on experience in managing the practical aspects of an exchange.

Beyond logistics, the groups also developed the full activity plan, building a timetable that outlined the flow of the exchange. They complemented this work by designing a visual identity, ensuring that each youth exchange had a unique and creative character. This combination of structured planning and creative design helped participants understand both the organizational and communicative sides of project development.
