Our mobility took place in October, in the cozy mountain town of Rokytnice nad Jizerou. The moment we arrived, the atmosphere already felt promising: new faces, fresh energy, and the shared excitement of starting something creative together. The mountains around us created a calm and inspiring environment that made it easy to connect and stay open to new experiences.

The first two days were fully dedicated to ice-breakers, energizers, and team-building games. And they truly worked. What began as a group of strangers who barely knew each other’s names quickly turned into a team that felt comfortable talking, laughing, and collaborating. Little by little, conversations grew longer, the room grew louder, and the sense of distance between participants disappeared.

As the activity continued, participants fully immersed themselves in a series of hands-on creative workshops designed to develop both digital skills and artistic expression. The journey began with photography and visual composition, where participants explored how angles, perspective, lighting and focus can completely change the meaning and feeling of an image. They experimented with framing everyday objects, capturing candid moments of their friends and observing subtle details in the environment that often go unnoticed. Each exercise encouraged them to think creatively, push boundaries and tell stories through visuals. Participants discovered that even the smallest adjustments in composition or lighting could dramatically change the mood of a photograph and they began to develop a keen eye for visual storytelling.

After building confidence in photography, the workshops shifted to video editing. Participants learned how to organize and select footage, create smooth sequences and structure a visual narrative that flows naturally from beginning to end. They explored pacing, timing, transitions and color to shape the emotional impact of their scenes. Many participants were using digital editing tools for the first time, yet the environment was encouraging and collaborative. Participants shared tips, gave constructive feedback and celebrated each small achievement. Each step of the process, from cutting footage to experimenting with effects, strengthened their understanding of how visuals and storytelling work together. By the end of these sessions, participants not only acquired technical skills but also gained confidence in expressing their ideas creatively, combining imagination with practical knowledge to bring their stories to life.

In the end, the activity became far more than a series of workshops and creative sessions. It grew into an experience that connected people, encouraged self-expression and allowed participants to step outside their comfort zones. Over the course of the program, everyone learned to collaborate, share ideas and support each other, creating an atmosphere where creativity could truly flourish.

The mix of learning, teamwork and exploration helped participants discover strengths they didn’t know they had and gave them the confidence to express their thoughts and stories in new ways. Along the way, friendships formed naturally, shaped by shared challenges, long conversations and the excitement of creating something together.

What began as a gathering of young people from different countries ended as a community that understood, trusted and inspired one another. The memories, skills and connections built during this time will stay with the participants.
