My journey into the world of Erasmus+ began with a simple question from an old friend: “Do you want to go to Spain for free?” As a self-proclaimed “yes-woman,” I eagerly agreed, not fully comprehending the incredible adventure that awaited me. Little did I know that this decision would mark the beginning of a life-changing journey.

In November 2022, I found myself in Madrid, participating in an ecology-themed Youth Exchange, my very first Erasmus+ experience. From that moment on, I was hooked on Erasmus+. Soon after, in December 2022, I embarked on my second project, a Training Course organized by E29 in Czechia. This particular experience was transformative in many ways – not only did I gain valuable knowledge and skills, but also made friends for life.

As an introvert, I had always been hesitant to step out of my comfort zone. Erasmus+ helped me to break free from that introverted shell. I found myself making friends from all corners of the globe, and I am happy that we remain in touch to this day. Erasmus+ instilled in me a newfound openness to the world and a genuine appreciation for the diversity of cultures.

What’s more, saying yes to that first opportunity opened the door to a world of adventures I would have never imagined. I ventured to Portugal and Romania to reunite with newfound friends, rappeled a 30-meter rock wall in Slovakia, and enjoyed on breathtaking hikes through the natural wonders of Slovenia. What I’m most proud of is that I introduced Erasmus+ to my friends and my younger brother Patrik, who, like me, fell in love with it.

For me, Erasmus+ means infinite possibilities, lasting friendships, and a lifestyle. When I learned about the E29 mentorship program, I didn’t hesitate to join. I wanted to be a part of an organization that not only changed my life but also opened the door to a world of opportunities for those who, like me, are ready to embrace the extraordinary journey that Erasmus+ offers.
