On January 7th, 2025, the Bratislava Film Festival took place in a student residency, transforming the space into a vibrant setting for storytelling and reflection. As part of the Citizenship in Action project, this event allowed us to reconnect with previous participants and introduce new audiences to the incredible work produced during our activities. From Budapest to Brno to Peniche, going also through the local events, the documentaries and photography on display captured the diversity of European communities and the importance of active citizenship.

Beyond the screenings, the festival was an opportunity for the filmmakers themselves to share their creative journeys. Participants spoke about their experiences in documentary production – how they captured the essence of a place, its people, and their stories. These personal insights added depth to the screenings, showing not just the final result but the dedication and passion behind each project.

The Bratislava Film Festival was more than just an event – it was a celebration of connection and creativity. By sharing our work in an intimate and engaging setting, we strengthened our network of young creatives and activists, reinforcing the idea that visual storytelling is a powerful tool for change. This gathering was a reminder that every captured image and filmed moment holds the potential to inspire, inform, and bring communities together.
