Faces of Campo de Ourique
As part of our Active Citizenship Campaign under the Citizenship in Action project, we hosted a photography workshop in the charming Lisbon parish of Campo de Ourique. We gathered a group of young photo enthusiasts, handed them some cameras, and gave a few quick tips on how to use them. The weather was on our side, and the vibe was light, curious, and welcoming—just perfect for connecting with people through a lens.
Once ready, we hit the streets. The goal was simple: approach locals, take their portraits, and listen. And they welcomed us. The people of Campo de Ourique shared with us their stories, perspectives, beliefs, and dreams. From all walks of life, they let us into a piece of their world.
Below, you’ll find a gallery of portraits taken by our participants. It includes everyone from retired men enjoying a card game under the trees, to youth strolling through the streets, friendly dog-walkers, café and local business owners behind their counters, artists, and others simply enjoying a calm Saturday morning in the garden. It’s a slice of life in Lisbon, full of warmth, character, and community spirit.
