Hike Smart – Zvolenska kotlina – Slovakia

Despite unfavorable weather conditions, twenty participants attended the event, including students from the secondary school in Banská Štiavnica together with their teachers. The program was carried out in a friendly and positive atmosphere, and the weather eventually allowed for the successful implementation of all planned activities.

The participants completed a hiking route in the Zvolen Basin with a total length of 9 km, during which they also visited the significant historical site of Pustý hrad. An adrenaline-filled activity was also included in the program – the via ferrata Sokolie skaly – where special emphasis was placed on thorough preparation and maximum safety.

The project demonstrated that a combination of hiking, exploring cultural and natural landmarks, and engaging in active sports experiences is an effective way to motivate participants towards a healthy and conscious lifestyle. The event also contributed to the development of teamwork, mutual respect, and the strengthening of positive relationships between students and teachers.

The main goal of the program was to inspire participants to spend their free time actively while encouraging responsible behavior among hikers, which includes caring for one’s own safety, being considerate of others, and respecting nature. This goal was successfully achieved.
