Participants from Slovakia, Hungary, Portugal, Czechia, and Romania came together to explore this beautiful region, known for its rugged terrain, high peaks, and captivating landscapes.
The weather was a delightful mix of sunshine and snow—a unique combination that added to the beauty and challenge of the hikes. The group embarked on their first hike on May 30th, covering 15.7 kilometers through the Dereše and Chopok areas. The trail offered a mix of steep ascents and panoramic views, with the snow-capped peaks contrasting against the clear blue sky. The participants pushed through the physical demands of the hike, motivated by the stunning scenery that rewarded their efforts at every turn.
The second day, May 31st, saw the group tackle a 17.6-kilometer hike in the Ďumbier region. The climb was steep, and the high elevation made it a bit challenging, but the participants embraced the adventure with enthusiasm. The hike was a true test of endurance and teamwork, with everyone supporting each other through the more difficult sections of the trail.

In addition to the hikes, the group also held several team meetings to discuss best practices for hiking. Topics included safety measures, essential gear, and how to ensure a positive experience for all participants. These discussions were invaluable, as they allowed the instructors to share their knowledge and learn from each other, further enhancing their ability to lead successful hikes.
The Low Tatras mobility event was more than just a physical challenge; it was an opportunity for growth and connection. The hikes were demanding, but they also brought the participants closer together. The shared experiences of pushing through tough climbs and admiring the breathtaking views created a strong bond among the group.
The combination of learning and adventure made this event a resounding success. Participants left with new skills, deeper connections, and unforgettable memories of hiking through one of Slovakia’s most stunning regions.
