Video Recap of our Local Hiking Event in Kemence, Hungary

The second Hungarian local sport event, called Hike in Kemence, took place in August 2025 in northern Hungary. With ideal weather, participants followed a route filled with breathtaking views, an abandoned forest railway, castle ruins, and much more. Before the hike, organizers held a preparatory meeting, where they explained what to pack and what to watch out for to ensure a safe journey.

The journey commenced with a preparatory meeting held a few days before the hike. During this meeting, participants learned about essential safety measures, preparation techniques, packing essentials, and suitable attire. Afterward, the intended hiking route was carefully discussed in detail. A few days later, the participants finally embarked on the long-awaited hike. Upon arrival at the starting point around 9 a.m., they proceeded along the path together. Initially, the route began with a steep incline; nevertheless, the participants successfully navigated it as a group. Eventually, they reached the summit, where they were rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view. From that vantage point, they then descended into a valley, where an abandoned railway unexpectedly intersected their path. Even so, they adhered to the official and well-tested route, always prioritizing safety above everything else.

Although the sun was strong, the trail was shaded by trees, which kept them comfortable and energized. Consequently, participants could enjoy the hike without feeling overheated. Along the way, they paused several times to appreciate the magnificent scenery of the mountain and the valley below. Ultimately, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and fortunately, no accidents or issues occurred.
