The Health Heroes event was an unforgettable experience that combined physical activity, mental well-being, and cultural exchange into a week of profound learning and bonding.
Here’s a heartfelt glimpse of our incredible journey.
Team building activities
From the very beginning, we focused on creating a strong team spirit through engaging and fun name-learning games. Participants worked together on problem-solving activities like constructing models and creating nests to protect eggs from breaking during a fall. The Healthy 50 challenge, which included 50 short tasks related to a healthy lifestyle, sparked creativity and laughter, subtly strengthening the bonds between us all.
Sports and Physical Activities
Our venue was a haven for sports, offering opportunities for volleyball, football, and even water sports at the nearby thermal baths. Every day, we set aside time for physical activity, where participants taught each other beloved childhood games or created beautiful choreographies in different dance styles. The program was further enriched by planning imaginative sports events.
Mental Health Focus
Mental health was a cornerstone of our event. We openly addressed challenging topics like various addictions and harmful stress-relief habits, and we discussed procrastination and effective communication methods. We also explored how our environment directly impacts our mental well-being, creating a safe space for personal growth.
Farewell
As we said our goodbyes, one of our heartfelt vows came true: we formed lifelong friendships. The Portuguese team was the first to leave, and the rest of the team tearfully waved them off as their bus rolled out of the Zsory Zsibongó’s courtyard, singing the Health Heroes anthem, “I Want It That Way,” at the top of their lungs.
Health Heroes was not just an event; it was a deeply emotional journey of growth, connection, and unforgettable memories. We left with stronger bodies, clearer minds, and friendships that will last a lifetime.
Health Heroes through the Eyes of Our Participants
Ilene
“It was an experience I had never had before and I didn’t expect to do it with people I had met the same day and it’s incredible how people who you didn’t know until 10 minutes before manage to make you feel so comfortable.
The more hours passed the more a bond was created with these people, we talked about everything, thanks to what we had talked about in the activity we shared a piece of our lives, we supported each other.
This Erasmus gave me the opportunity to discover new traditions thanks to the intercultural nights in each country: dances, songs, and typical food, new flavours and the sense of union between all of us.”

“The kindness of the coordinators and group leaders made this 10-day project amazing.
These sessions taught us how to work, communicate, and think efficiently and quickly, helping us to develop new skills and step out of our comfort zones.
I met new people who became close friends and even sisters and roommates, and I proved to myself that I’m able to communicate in English. Besides the topics that I learned, I visited a new country, cities, and learned about other countries’ realities. I had a great time and I also cried a lot when we had to come back!”
