Summary

Embark on an unforgettable adventure from Sintra to Cascais, a 20 km trail that blends history, nature, and ocean breeze into one spectacular journey. Starting in the mystical hills of Sintra, the route passes by iconic landmarks such as Castelo dos Mouros and Palácio da Pena, offering sweeping views over the Serra and the Atlantic coast. The path continues through the serene forests surrounding Lagoa Azul and into the open landscapes of Quinta do Pisão, where hikers can explore the gruta de Porto Côvo. As the trail descends along the picturesque Trilho das Vinhas, the vineyards slowly give way to the charm of Cascais, marking the perfect ending to a day of exploration. With 470 meters of ascent and 660 meters of descent, this hike is a rewarding challenge for those seeking a full-day experience that combines cultural heritage, natural beauty, and the essence of hiking smart.
