Everyone Counts is about helping young people discover the power of communication and self-expression, while also learning how to truly listen to and understand others. The exchange gives participants the tools to connect across cultures, share their perspectives, and grow more confident in expressing who they are. At the same time, it’s about having fun, meeting people from diverse backgrounds, and creating memories that last.

If you’ve ever wanted to strengthen your voice, learn how to express yourself openly, or explore new ways of understanding those around you, this is the space for you! Here, you’ll step outside your comfort zone, challenge your own assumptions, and build skills that make everyday interactions richer and more meaningful.

We will approach communication and self-expression in an engaging, supportive, and beginner-friendly way, ensuring that every participant feels comfortable, heard, and valued.

You will meet a lot of participants from different countries.

Non-formal Education

All our methods are non-formal: That means you will learn by playing and trying.

Intercultural Dialogue

You will learn about different cultures from partner countries. And taste their food!

Participant Profile

  • Residents or citizens from any of these countries: Hungary, Slovakia, Czechia, Portugal, Lithuania, Romania, Serbia

  • Optimal age range: 16-22 years old

  • Available to attend the whole duration of the program and participate in all the sessions.

  • Expresses a willingness to disseminate the youth exchange and its results to other groups of young people.

  • Highly motivated to engage with the topic of inclusion and diversity.

  • Currently not receiving any funds from the European Union (e.g.: participating in an Erasmus exchange program within University).

Activity Schedule

  • Days 1–2: Building the Foundations

    We’ll kick off the exchange with interactive team-building games and group challenges designed to spark connection and trust among participants. These activities will set the tone for cooperation and mutual support throughout the week. Through creative icebreakers, we’ll shape shared goals together and create a welcoming, collaborative atmosphere where everyone feels ready to grow and contribute.

  • Days 3–9: Communicating Across Differences

    During these days, participants will explore how communication can build bridges and foster understanding. Using non-formal learning methods such as role-play, group projects, and creative exercises, they’ll practice expressing themselves clearly while also learning to listen deeply to others.

    Together, we’ll tackle questions like: “How can I make someone feel included through the way I communicate?” and “What does it mean to truly understand another person’s perspective?”

    Through these collaborative experiences, participants will strengthen their communication skills, boost their confidence in self-expression, and develop the empathy needed to connect across cultures and viewpoints. These days are all about growing as communicators and as people, with skills that make everyday interactions more meaningful.

  • Day 10: Celebration and Looking Ahead

    On the final day, participants will gather to reflect on their journey and celebrate all they have achieved together. This is a moment to recognize personal growth, shared experiences, and the new connections formed throughout the exchange. Each participant will receive their YouthPass certificate as a symbol of the skills and insights they have gained.

    The day will close with gratitude, farewells, and excitement for what comes next, encouraging participants to carry their new abilities into everyday life and to share the knowledge and spirit of the exchange within their own communities.

Location and Venue

The program will be hosted in Bodrogkeresztúr at the Betlehem Evangélikus Pihenőház in a breath-taking area of Hungary called Tokaj. Participants will be accommodated in shared rooms, housing 4-6 individuals, and the room assignment will be based on international diversity and separated by gender.

In addition, each participant will be served three meals a day: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Participants’ dietary preferences should be provided prior to the activity, during the application process, in order to ensure meals are prepared accordingly.

  • Travel days will be 7th and 18th of December.

  • The main travel tickets will be purchased and arranged by our organization. These include bus, train and flight tickets and exclude local and urban transportation.

  • For flights, we are funding only the most basic option, which includes one small backpack to be carried under the seat. You will be free to add priority or cargo luggage to your reservation, but at your own cost.

  • Each country will have a maximum of two meeting points, where participants will gather to begin their journey. Participants should arrange their own travel to the meetings points.

  • In some cases it might be needed for participants to travel one day earlier or return one day later, namely if there are no viable flight connections in the same day.

  • Once the participant selection is finished and everyone is confirmed, the project coordinators will arrange with the national group leaders to finalize the travel itinerary for each group.

  • All important info regarding travel and other topics will be available on a dedicated Discord channel of the activity, but also via e-mail.

  • Above you can find a preliminary plan for each national group. These might change depending on the availability of connections and prices.

Useful information

  • Participation costs: There are no participation costs. Travel, accommodation, and food are co-funded by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union. However, participants who are selected will need to pay a 50€ deposit to confirm their participation. This is to avoid last-minute cancelations and to cover possible damages caused by the participants on the accommodation. The money is sent back after the activity.

  • Health & Insurance: We do not provide insurance for our participants. We ask all participants to bring their European Health Insurance Cards, which can be used if they need hospital care.

  • What to bring: Identification card or passport, towel, pocket money to buy personal items, laptop (if possible), national snacks and items for cultural nights, speaker, board games, comfortable and enough clothes for the days of the activity and for outdoor activities as well.
